Hope and Maks danced the foxtrot to the Toy Story theme as Jessie and Woody and totally killed it. They were adorable and there was lots of hugging and smiling and shyness and I love them.

They got pretty good scores too (I think a little low…I hate how they bunch them all up in the scoring because it means voting is so much more important) but one of the judges accused her of not practing hard enough after which she looked like she was going to yell in frustration or maybe punch someone in the nose. She needs a good night sleep. I’d give her points for doing too much everything, including dancing, rather than doing or caring too little.
(Rant) She freak’n ran in the Chicago marathon yesterday for a charity (something she agreed to do back in July) AND Maks has been putting her through full rehearsals until two in the morning while on the road. This isn’t an excuse or anything since they have not been carting it around like one, but please just judge the dance. Don’t speculate on how committed people are. Her dance was great so that should have been that. I’m sure they’d love to not have to travel around, but when you are a star athlete that’s how your life is. Hope and Maks accept that, put late hours in on dancing, and did a great dance and then they go and say that about her. Phht.
Maks didn’t go easy on her and he hasn’t been complaining so she must be doing what he wants. They knew her schedule when she signed on. Real stars have schedules. Sign a nobody if you want them without prior commitments. Fortunately Hope doesn’t have anything big again until late November when they play Sweden in Arizona. But still….grrr…those judges found the one thing that would hurt her and went for it out of the blue.
She has made a life out of training since she was five. She is a perfectionist. If she thinks she has trained and so does Maks you can bet she trained. Maks seemed as pissed or more pissed than she did at that uncalled for accusation. She handled them poo-pooing her muscles and saying she isn’t feminine enough without a quiver but questioning her effort and training made her look like she was going to break (or break something) right there. I certainly wanted to break something. Stupid, glittery, cheetos tan show. Grrr… (/Rant)
I don’t know why they only showed clips of them being tense. They were just interacting like athletes do. Hope normally trains with a big English bloke who kicks 60+ mpr balls at her head. Dancing is just harder because she doesn’t have the dancing skills to channel her perfectionism and she gets frustrated, but Maks seems to be on top of it. They are actually friends and get along very well. They were seen shopping together in Chicago and Hope took Maks with her to her ESPN party and you don’t do those unnecessary things unless you are at least friends and want to hang out. Hope also gets filmed a lot for soccer and Maks is there and they are getting along fine in all of that media and in the background of shots and stuff. So bad on the show again. They do that with other couples too. Maybe that’s all the footage they had since Hope and Maks have been training on the road.
So if you hate asshats vote for Hope. She doesn’t deserve the shit she’s gotten every week and especially not tonight when she killed it. Dancing AND acting? No Big Deal for our goalkeeper. She’s one of the few real people on the show. She can’t fake her reactions. If she looks upset she is upset. I can’t deal with sad!Hope. It is Yellow!Kit Hope all over again. So bad on you judges and ABC. Manufacturing drama…grrrr…
Here is a random gif of Hope and Rob Kardashian. That totally blows my mind. Would not have pictured them in the same room or even building a couple months ago and here they are. For a second I thought he was growing on me, but not really. He’s just in proximity of Hope which does wonders for everyone.

Neither of them can resist going for the home run. It’s adorable. Maks is going to pay for that eventually, but it was worth it for the reaction.

Hope’s makeup is on so thick it is like she doesn’t know what to do with her face. Hope once again says she only listens to Maks’ feedback. It’s kind of cute actually. Hope does the same thing in soccer to block out all of the conflicting voices of the critics. She finds a few people she respects, who knows their stuff, and only listens to them. Looks like Maks made the inner circle which is actually a big thing to get her to respect you that much. Team MakSolo looking good. Let’s hope the votes pan out. No more fake bottom two.
