Ok, so we still can’t buy the elusive Purple “Barney” Kit (Come on already Nike…I throw money at the picture on the screen and nothing happens! Why aren’t these being made for the public?! #sadpanda) but here are a few things to add to your Hope Solo Christmas list. (Links all go to Nike.com, TOMS, USSOCER etc. I just rec them.) Hope Solo US Soccer Women’s T-Shirt – I got this one a while back. While it isn’t her white “jersey” they have out, that white jersey isn’t a goalkeeper cut anyway so it looks weird to me. Either the proper goalkeeper kit like she actually wears or…a tshirt that isn’t pretending to be something it isn’t. Oh, and it is much less expensive. The only bad thing I can say about this is that it is on the thin side. I suggest pairing it with a Nike sports bra of your choosing. Sizes run small IMO.

Livestrong “Hope” Women’s T-Shirt – This is likely not related to Hope at all but it is part of the Livestrong line which she does wear and it is purple. Once again not the purple kit, but it is purple and it says Hope on it. (handwaves)
TOMS Shoes – Hope and the rest of the USWNT have been seen wearing TOMS and Hope even rehearsed with them on that horrible Dancing With the Stars show. (boohiss) I think she might be why Maks started wearing them too. TOMS are both super comfortable and charitable in that when you buy a pair they send one to someone who needs shoes too. While they are super comfy and form to your feet after a few outings they wear out a little quickly. Still, I love mine. I found mine at Whole Foods of all places but besides online I think Macy’s and Nordstrom have them.
Nike Connect Gym Pullover – What was more interesting to Hope Solo fans than finding out what dress they’d have her wear on Dancing With the Stars? What athletic stuff she wears to rehearsals of course! Paparazzi…ok, that was weird. Hopefully that will stop happening. But while it was happening Hope wore a lot of Nike of course and here is something that is seasonally appropriate. I’d love to share the shoes too but I think she gets to have her pick at some secret back room lab or something. I don’t know what those are in the picture or the silver ones or the purple ones.
Nike Pro Hyperwarm Crew – If you are into outdoor training check out this snug number. I’m not into anything like that and likely wouldn’t look that good in it anyway, but the reviews are good and I approve of the purple.
Nike Sports Bra – If you have the abs for it this might be the look for you. Seems like the entire USWNT loves the mesh shirt / thin shirt over a Nike sports bra. You can go a little more 1980s with it and just get a slouchy opaque tshirt or sweat shirt which would probably work better for most people at winter time anyway.
Nike Pro Fitted Shirt - Looks like the major draw for these are the fitting and the fact it doesn’t show sweat much. Both good things! It gets great reviews so besides sizing up a bit you can’t go wrong.
Notable Runners Up:
PeaceLoveWorld.com – Hope has been seen wearing their sweat pants (yoga pants?) and shirts while rehearsing on Dancing With the Stars. I found them particularly ironic because DWTS was doing their character assassination package on her…while she was wearing clothing with inspirational messages. Screw you, DWTS.
Feather earrings – So this might fall under the Do Not Do list, but I actually think they look kind of nice on Hope so maybe you’d like them too. What’s life without a little risk? If you want to take more risks maybe you should go for those ridiculously large Pacific Northwest style beanies as seen in this video and all over the place honestly. The trucker hats might have been discarded but never the sock on the head.
Just Dance 3 – Hope and Alex Morgan danced to this in a promo video and Hope even had some Dancing With the Stars people compete with her later on. I think Hope won against both. Of course. She has her own “Solo Step” after all. I think that was filmed before Maks got to her. Hah!
