The NWSL started up in April. I managed to secure a scarf for my team Seattle Reign even though I’m in Austin and it is too hot for scarves. My team has yet to win a game, and I sorta hate the league, but it is what it is. Between the Chicago Bulls and Seattle Reign the tune “Death March” will forever be playing. Does Nate Robinson have a sister who plays soccer?
This is what I do 1-2 hours a day depending on the flow. Caaaaars. Bumpers. Inching along. Inching. Inching. Seattle is in the top ten worst traffic cities. I am part of the problem. :( Soon, train. Soon.
I’ve been watching Bates Motel lately and I love that show. It might be my favorite show this year along with Vikings. My sister and I rewatched the original Psycho. I had watched it a lot when I was a kid (hey, he was my favorite director when I was ten) and I was having a lot of “moments” during it where I was recalling years of rewatches and perspective changes. I also watched his bio picture recently. That one was very well done I thought. At least as an overview to get you interested in reading a proper biography.
I found this adorable nerd graffiti from 1984 written into some cement along the river in Austin. It would only be better if it was “Frodo Lives!”
This speaks for itself. That ad campaign from the 1980s was solid. Over 20 years later and I still did a fistpump when I saw that parked near the sketchy gas station where I buy coconut water.
What else? I’ve been adding to my list of restaurants it is safe and possibly even enjoyable for this celiac girl to eat at. Thank you Austin for taking some of the suck out of celiac.
Here’s the new list:
Wendy’s (baked potato, chocolate shake)
Chipotle (most things beyond the obvious are good)
Red Robin (meat patty/sometimes fries depending on fryer)
Rudy’s BBQ (almost everything but the pudding is fine)
The Clay Pit (I can eat 90% of the food here…I had like a religious experience here. No lie.)
Outback (steak/unseasoned veggies/baked potato)
Snap Kitchen (Stuff clearly marked gf)
After work Friday I went to the Veronica Mars Movie Kickstarter Countdown Party. It was fun. Got some Mars Investigation Swag (see above). Met showrunner Rob Thomas and saw Jason Dohring who made a surprise appearance. More importantly, I had gluten free Indian food at The Clay Pit beforehand and maybe had a religious experience from it. I can’t stop thinking about that food. Someone take me there. And pay for my meal.
My sister got to chat with Rob Thomas. I took the picture. She’s more of a fangirl than me. I’m pretty chill about such things. Chill to the point of indifference. I guess as an introvert I’m more of a watcher. I ended this party sitting outside on the curb after not feeling too great because of the crush of people and too much tandoori. Sudden claustrophobia is my bane. I’m normally ok, but the smell of smoke seems to be a trigger.
They had the kickstarter screen on a projector so we could count down to the end. Everyone there was adorable. Just a bunch of fans mingling, drinking, and watching the numbers.
